Description:
|
The folded sheet-metal catch-plate or catch-hinge of a book clasp of the late medieval to early post medieval period. It is roughly keyhole-shaped with a v-shaped notch in each side, and is decorated with an incised transverse groove at the pivotal end and a wavy line between the two rivet holes.
The third image above shows a similar clasp in-situ.
