Description:

The hooked front plate only of a late medieval to early post-medieval book clasp. The plate is sub-rectangular with several notches at the attachment end, and frontal decoration consisting of multiple longitudinal grooves. It has two rivet holes, one of which retains a copper-alloy rivet. The back plate is missing.
