Description: A copper-alloy trumpet brooch of the Roman period. The brooch is of characteristic 'trumpet' form, with flared head, decorative mid-bow knob ('acanthus') and prominent foot. It has a solid chain loop and a hinged pin, both of which survive intact. The acanthus is flanked by cavetto mouldings and paired transverse ribs. The catchplate is solid, but a small part is missing.
