A cast copper-alloy crotal bell. The bell is complete and undamaged with its iron pea clapper in situ. The suspension loop is rectangular and has an as-cast aperture. There are two circular sound holes in the top half, and a sound bow in the bottom half comprising two circular holes conjoined by a slit. Only the lower half is decorated, and the pattern is very worn. The initials ’HW’ are present on one side of the bow, and a founder’s hammer mark on the other. There is a pronounced circumferential rib between the two halves.
