A cast copper-alloy ring of uncertain date. The ring is of sub-circular cross-section and progressively tapered bilaterally such that the maximum cross-sectional diameter is approximately three times larger than the minimum cross-sectional diameter at diametrically opposite points on the circumference.

Except for the fact that the ring is closed, it is closely similar to certain penannular rings dated to the late Anglo-Saxon period (e.g. UKDFD 40334), although an earlier date cannot be ruled out (e.g. see PAS HAMP-C054E1 and SUSS-F2DF27). The function of the ring is uncertain, but a strap fitting of some sort seems most likely.
