The axis bar connecting the handle and mount survives intact. The escutcheon is I-shaped and probably made from stamped sheet. It has an openwork 'rosette' at the centre and trilobate ends, each of which is drilled for attachment. The drilled holes are now filled with iron rust from decomposed fasteners.
