											A 'twisted frame' or 'love knot' brooch, fabricated from two lengths of drawn wire; the ends of the wires have triangular terminals. Applied to the frame is a circular plate with a red glass cabochon at the centre, which is surrounded by an outer border of thirteen small cells that probably held cut glass stones of a contrasting colour. The fastening device is missing.

											A small silver bow brooch of the Edwardian period. The brooch is depicted as being tied from a length of waffle-patterned ribbon with an incised saltire on the centre piece. There is evidence of a break on the lower edge of the centre piece suggesting that the brooch had an attachment. On the reverse is the Birmingham Assay Office mark 'd' that was used between 1903-4, and a partial makers mark [?] & W. The hinge survives, the pin and C-clasp are missing.

A silver Royal Artillery sweetheart brooch. The brooch is in the form of the regiments cap badge, a gun carriage surmounted by a banner inscribed "UBIQUE", (everywhere), and an imperial crown. Below the gun is a scroll inscribed  "QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT" (Where Right and Glory Lead). The back of the brooch is stamped with the maker's mark, P&T, Perks & Thompson, and the letter "P" used by the  Birmingham Assay Office between 1939-40.

											A gold rope-twist frame from a mourning brooch of the Victorian period. The frame, now distorted, has four evenly spaced tubes, each with two rows of knurled decoration, two of the tubes bear the remains of the hinge and the C-clasp. The purpose of the tubes was to retain a woven plait of hair. The centre-piece, now missing, would have held a decorative hair arrangement under glass.<br />

											A gilt brass sweetheart brooch of the 25th County Of London Cyclists Battalion. The brooch is in the form of a cycle wheel with a blue enamelled title circlet within a crowned laurel wreath, the banner at the base of the wheel bears the battalion's motto, TENAX ET AUDAX, (Tenacious and bold). The remains of a hinge and clasp are visible on the back of the brooch. <br />
<br />
Cyclists 'sweethearts' only appeared for a short period between 1888 - 1922.

											A composite sweetheart brooch of The Royal Engineers. Comprising an enamelled laurel-wreath surmounted by an Imperial Crown, within this is the Garter inscribed 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE', and in the centre is the cypher of King George V. Across the base of the wreath is a scroll inscribed 'ROYAL ENGINEERS'. The enamelled R.E badge is mounted on a circular mother-of-pearl (nacre) disc which is held in a silver trim, it has a copper-alloy backplate that held the hinge a C clasp, (now missing).
