											A circular copper-alloy mount of the post-medieval period. The front of the mount is convex and has moulded concentric rings around a dimpled central boss. The back is concave and plain with a sub-square section rivet (or possibly incomplete stud) at the centre for attachment to leather. Probably a harness decoration.<br />

The back of the mount originally had four integral attachment lugs, but only one survives intact. The surviving lug retains a fragment of leather strap.

											A shield-shaped copper plaque commemorating "Operation Thrasher Eastern Border", a military operation conducted by Rhodesian security forces during the Bush War of 1964-1979. The plaque depicts a helicopter flanked by assault rifles, above and below which are scrolls inscribed OPERATION THRASHER and EASTERN BORDER respectively. <br />
<br />
The plaque is one of several that were made to commemorate various military operations in the period between Rhodesia's unilateral declaration of independence from Britain in 1965 and its internationally recognised emergence as the Republic of Zimbabwe in 1980.     <br />

											An asymmetrical post-medieval mount with two integral lugs for attachment. The mount is incomplete at one end, but the intact end is moulded in the form of a fleur-de-lis. The damaged end differs in having two opposed lateral knops and several moulded grooves that run lengthwise but diverge slightly. These features suggest that the original form resembled a scallop-shell. The centre of the mount is flat and slightly barrel-shaped in plan. Both integral lugs are clenched in a manner that is consistent with the mount having been attached to leather.<br />

											A gilded copper-alloy altar/processional cross terminal mount depicting an eagle, the symbolic representation of Saint John. The eagle is depicted standing with outstretched wings and head turned to the left. The design incorporates openwork, moulded relief and incised feather detail. On the back, there is a single integral attachment stud at the centre. Much of the gilt finish survives.<br />

Mounts representing each of the four evangelists were attached to the cross. Those with the ox of Saint Luke and the lion of Saint Mark were fitted to arms of the cross, while the eagle of Saint John and the winged man of Saint Matthew were fitted to the top and base.<br />
