The front of the mount has engraved and punched vine-scroll decoration. The back has an integral rivet at the hooked end and the remains of a separate iron rivet at the opposite end. The rivets would have secured a thin iron back plate, but this has been lost to corrosion. There is a transverse ridge or collar at the junction between the body and the hook.
