											A copper-alloy penannular bracelet fragment of the Roman period. Comprising a short length of the band and a zoomorphic terminal. The band is rectangular in section, the external surface is decorated with a median groove flanked on each side by a notched herringbone border. The band expands to form the blunt-nosed terminal with moulded features depicting eyes, nostrils, eyes, and possibly rearward facing ears or shoulders.<br />

											A multiple-motif, hook and eye bracelet of the Roman period. The bracelet, now in two parts and found several years apart is formed from a flat strip of copper-alloy. Decoration consists of nine rectangular panels, each separated by a transverse groove. The three central panels have simple punched decoration, (the break occurs in the middle one), followed on each side of the strip by two panels with ring and dot motifs. The panels nearest to the terminals are decorated with a row of triangles. The male terminal tapers to form an outwardly facing hook, the female terminal is flattened, splayed, and pierced to receive the hook.

The bracelet which is possibly military comprises one flat rectangular section terminal and a short length of the band. The terminal is decorated with a saltire motif with a  bead on each of the four points, the band has a double row of ropework decoration flanked each side by moulded decoration, the design of which is now indistinct.

											A complete penannular armlet or wide cuff bracelet of the Roman period. The armlet is formed from a broad copper-alloy; rectangular section strip. It has manually produced decoration on the external surface consisting of three contiguous rows of punched grooves which extend to the terminals. The terminals are blunt-ended and expand slightly in width and thickness, they are defined by two transverse ribs and three rows of punched grooves.<br />
<br />
Note:   Although objects of this type are often identified as 'bracelets', they are more correctly described as 'bangles'. The latter are solid, whereas the former are flexible and closed with a clasp of some sort.
