Saint Ignatius of Loyola, (23rd Oct 1491 - 31st July 1556) was born into a noble Spanish Basque family, he was a soldier, catholic priest, theologian, and founder member of the "Society of Jesus" later to be known as Jesuits, he became the society's first Superior General in 1541.  Beatified 1609, Canonised 1622, feast day 31 July, patron saint of soldiers.

Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, (9th March 1568 - 21 June 1591) was born into a noble Italian family, the eldest of seven children. Canonisied 1726, feast day 21st June.  Patron saint of youth and students. he was originally destined for a military career, however, In 1585 he resigned his inheritance and social status and entered the "Society of Jesus" (the Jesuit Order). He died at the age of 23 after caring for the victims of a plague outbreak in Rome and contracting the disease himself.
