Description: A complete penannular armlet or wide cuff bracelet of the Roman period. The armlet is formed from a broad copper-alloy; rectangular section strip. It has manually produced decoration on the external surface consisting of three contiguous rows of punched grooves which extend to the terminals. The terminals are blunt-ended and expand slightly in width and thickness, they are defined by two transverse ribs and three rows of punched grooves.

Note:   Although objects of this type are often identified as 'bracelets', they are more correctly described as 'bangles'. The latter are solid, whereas the former are flexible and closed with a clasp of some sort.

Description: A fragment of a copper-alloy bracelet of the late Roman period. The centre of the fragment has an incised triangular panel decorated with multiple ring-and-dot motifs. The sides of the bracelet are also bevelled and cut such that they approximately reflect the triangular shape. Beyond the apex of the triangle, the full width of the bracelet is restored, and there are four knurled transverse ridges followed by a sub-square panel decorated with concentric circles. The bracelet is notched on either side between the sub-square panel and the transverse ridges. The decoration at the opposite end of the fragment is similar, except that there are just two plain transverse ridges between the base of the triangle and the sub-square panel.
