Description:		An uninscribed silver unit of the Iceni, early Celtic Head type. The coin is a rare variant of the relatively common type designated the 'Punk Head' silver unit in Ancient British Coins. Chris Rudd, in Coins of the Iceni, lists the variant as COI 15c and has distinguished it with the descriptive name, 'Beardie Pipe Pole' silver unit. In a die-study of the Celtic Head variants, John Talbot identifies it as 'Large Flan, type C', struck from dies C2. (see References below for further details.) Another example of the coin is recorded as UKDFD 44260.
