The first ten days!

As we expected, considering the sophisticated nature of the software and the minimal testing that we were able to carry out prior to launch, we have experienced a number of problems, but no more than we anticipated. The most significant of these was a failure of the pay-as-you-go credit system, which took about a week to resolve. This is now working correctly.
The second most significant probem is a failure to register accounts fully automatically. This affects admin quite seriously, as accounts have to be manually completed. The effect on users is that it might take a few hours between registering your account and being able to buy a Recording Package. Please bear with us on this, and allow a little time before getting in touch. We are in touch with the supplier and will hopefully get the system working in a way that doesn't entail manual intervention.
There are also a significant number of minor glitches, which we working on, along with the software supplier, to correct. You might notice minor changes from day to day in the working or appearance of the website. A few of the areas that have been 'tweaked' are:
1. The keyword search facility - you may find that the same search yields different results than it previously did, and work continues on this.
2. We are working on improvements to the format of the pdf file, so you will probably also notice changes here.
3. We have increased the number of links that open in the tab/window you are using, rather than a new window.
4. There was an error that allowed some account holders to upload records to any category, which can be very confusing if you are validating. This has now been changed so that everyone has to upload to either Coins awaiting validation or Artefacts awaiting validation.
It is likely that tweaks and improvements will continue to be made for many weeks, as we attempt to get the software working exactly as we want it.
